The Pomeranian State Museum

House of Treasures

The outstanding Friedrich collection of the Pomeranian State Museum – with seven original oil paintings and a large portfolio of drawings – provides a compelling incentive to delve into the topic of Romanticism. In recent years, the collection has grown continuously. Thanks to the support of well-known foundations, the Museum has been able to acquire further works by Caspar David Friedrich as well as works by some of his companions, including Johan Christian Dahl and Carl Gustav Carus.

Currently, the complete collection of drawings is being restored and a new interactive media table is planned with the aid of donations organised by the Fördergesellschaft, an association which supports and promotes the Museum and its projects.
