Friedrich Andreoni: This all sounds

A ‘Gallery of Romanticism‘ for Caspar David Friedrich
New exhibition rooms for the outstanding Friedrich collection with seven oil paintings and a large portfolio of drawings will be created at the Pomeranian State Museum over the coming years. The ‘Gallery of Romanticism’ will increase the artist’s popularity in his native Greifswald and pay tribute to the painter Caspar David Friedrich as the most famous artist of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania and the most important representative of Romanticism.
The Pomeranian State Museum intends to name the new exhibition rooms ‘Gallery of Romanticism’. The current gallery will be completely refurbished and enlarged by a new building directly adjacent to the gallery. A total of 150 square metres of exhibition space will invite the visitor to explore the Romantic era via an array of 21st century multi-media technology.
Friedrich’s 40 drawings, which have been restored by a Berlin-based conservator since 2015, will be displayed temporarily in the newly refurbished gallery, as will the many letters to the artist’s family and friends.
